A Friend that is Moving Away
I was surprised when my best friend Eric told me that he was moving away. I did not know on how to react because it was very sudden. He said that he has been planning for it for a very long time. He was only waiting for the right time, to tell me about it. He said that he hired the Georgia moving company to handle everything for him. That was very like him, he was the type to plan things carefully before diving head on.
The only thing that I was able to tell him during that time was “Let us go drinking then”. We talked about the plan that he had about movers in NC and he said that he’s planning to get married there as well. I told him that he better send me an invitation or else I’m going to gate crash at his wedding day. He just laughed and insisted that I would be the last person that he’d forget to invite for the special day of his life. A day before he was bound to leave, I dropped over to his house and helped him for some last minute packing.
